ADOR On Knife Threat Against NewJeans, “Enhance Safety Measure & Police Investigation Underway”

On June 25th, NewJeans’s agency ADOR issued a notice, saying “We are preparing to enhance safety measures with the Japanese concert organizer”, adding “At the same time, the police in Korea are investigating the case and our company is also actively cooperating with the investigation”.
They added, “We are making every effort to make sure that the artists can carry out activities safely”.
Earlier on the 24th, NewJeans received a death from a netizen. This netizen posted a photo of a knife in an online community with the message, “I bought this to use at NewJeans concert”, adding “When they get off the van, I’m going to stab each one of them”.

It has been confirmed that the knife picture was copied online. Not knowing whether the netizen really intended to commit the crime, however, NewJeans fans raised concerns and reported the article to the police.
After fans filed a complaint with the police, the post was deleted. Although it has not been confirmed whether the netizen would actually do it, they can still be punished for threatening if a specific target is identified even without an intention to cause harm.
Meanwhile, NewJeans departed for Tokyo for their overseas schedules on the morning of June 20th. The girl has been promoting their debut single “Supernatural” in Japan on the 21st. They also plan to hold the fanmeeting “Bunnies Camp 2024” at Tokyo Dome on the 26th and 27th of June.
